Eligibility Criteria for PEC C6 License
To obtain a PEC C6 License through the PEC Firm Registration process, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Individual or Firm: The applicant can apply as an individual, sole proprietor, or a registered firm.
- Nationality: Only Pakistani nationals or registered businesses are eligible.For foreign nationals, it is called F6 an equivalent to C6.
- Experience Requirement: No prior experience is required, making C6 an accessible category for newcomers.
- Technical Staff: The C6 category does not mandate hiring a registered engineer, though having skilled labor is beneficial.
- Business Registration: Firms must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) or a local trade office.
- Valid CNIC: A copy of the applicant’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is required.
- Affidavit of Non-Blacklisting: A declaration confirming that the applicant has not been blacklisted by any regulatory authority.
Financial Limits for PEC C6 License
The PEC C6 License comes with specific financial restrictions to ensure it caters to small-scale contractors:
- Maximum Project Value: C6 contractors can undertake projects worth up to PKR 25 million.Contractors or owners can undertake projects with 25M bracket .
- No Minimum Capital Requirement: Unlike higher categories, C6 does not require proof of a significant financial investment OR Closing Balanace .
- Annual Revenue Limit: Contractors should operate within a small-scale financial framework to remain compliant.
Required Documents for PEC Firm Registration (C6 License-New Registration)
To complete the PEC Firm Registration process and obtain a PEC new C6 License, applicants must submit the following documents:
Personal & Business Documents:
- Copy of CNIC of owner ,if more than one director/partner/shareholders ,cnics of all partners/shareholders/directors.
- letterhead of company with same address as on NTN .
- If company is already registered in SECP,all secp documents required like memorandum and article of asssociation etc.
- Account maintenance certificate (company account) issued by bank .
- National Tax Number (NTN) Certificate issued by FBR.
Financial & Legal Documents:
- Bank statement or Account maintenance certificate.
- Affidavit of Non-Blacklisting, confirming the applicant has not
been debarred. (affidavit available on line and is available in online application form,no need to have affidavit in hard form. - ENGINEER REQUIREMENT IN C6
C6 Category requires 5pcps points ,that means atleast one registered engineer with PEC valid registration card, to be hired/attached with the firm -
Application Submission & Fee: After having all requirements fulfilled, applicants need to sign up on https://coportal.pec.org.pk/ and apply through to the portal. No hard documentation required to provide as this is wholly a online process for the last two years. Bank fee for C6 category is 15 thousand for that an auto challan is generated on the portal after login and giving bsic information about the firm.
